About this walk

Most people never learn that Barcelona grows its own wine. Can Calopa de Dalt is a masia up in the Collserola hills, inside the city boundary, where the L’Olivera cooperative farms the vines and makes the wine — a social enterprise as much as a winery. We take the minibus up from Plaça de Catalunya, walk the rows with the people who work them, go into the cellar, and taste what comes off this hillside, with bread and cheese, looking back down at the city you just left. Four hours. Uneven ground and very little shade — bring a hat and water.
